How the record is kept honest
A credits database is only worth reading if the credits can be trusted. These are the checks that exist today — described plainly, including their limits.
Profiles are claimed, not assumed
A profile becomes yours only after a moderator reviews the claim. Being credited on a film does not hand anyone your page.
Credits are confirmed by the film
A credit you submit stays pending until whoever manages that film accepts it. It is not public before then.
New films are reviewed before they appear
A newly added film goes to a moderator first. Until it is approved it — and everything attached to it — is visible only to the people who manage it.
Roles follow one shared vocabulary
Departments and roles come from a single catalogue, so a search for editors finds every editor rather than one spelling of the word.
Corrections go to a person
Anyone can question a credit. A moderator compares it with the evidence and decides — nothing is rewritten automatically.
Contact details are private by default
Your sign-in address is never published. A professional address appears only if you enter one and choose to show it.
World Film Credits does not independently verify every credit. What we do is make sure each one is attributable: submitted by an account, confirmed by whoever manages the film, and open to correction by anyone who knows better.
